I am forever telling my homeowners to maintain the character of their period home. If a buyer is interested in a century home, while they will likely be looking to ensure that the major updates have been done (electrical, plumbing, etc), they will appreciate the quirks of the old home, provided that imperfections aren't due to neglect but instead are simply a part of the home's charm.
